Wallace Fire Department receives donation from Murphy Family Ventures

We're always honored when we have the opportunity to give back to the community! Thanks to a donation from Wendell, Dell, and Wen Murphy, the Wallace Fire Department will be able to provide additional firefighter training to their volunteers.

Train the Trainer

"Train the Trainer" is a full-day course tailored for Head of Departments, Managers, and Assistant Managers who are responsible for training. The session, led by HR specialist Nicki Kendrick, aimed to show that learning can be an enjoyable experience. By the end of the session, participants had learned to paint and discovered hidden talents while stepping out of their comfort zones. It was a fun experience for everyone involved.

After the session, each participant will conduct a training activity in their department, teaching Nicki something related to their expertise, having been trained by her in painting.

From landscaping to BBQing, River Landing Landscape knows how to do it all. Recently, they hosted a delightful cookout to celebrate their hardworking employees!

🎓🌟MFV High School Career Fair🌟🎓

We had a great time hanging out with the students at our annual career fair at @madboarrestaurant. A big thank you to our recruiter Megan Jensen for organizing the event! Megan said, "For the past four years, MFV has held a high school career fair for the high schools in the surrounding counties. This year, we had the pleasure of hosting 10 different high schools. The fair provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about the careers MFV has to offer. Students get to go around and speak with some of our wonderful employees in our various departments who are doing these jobs every day. We are very thankful for each person who helped make this happen, as well as all the students who participated. We look forward to making next year even better!"

Chemicals (Acids and Bases)

We talk a lot about chemicals that are used in the workplace.  WHY?  Well, these products are designed to perform as they have been advertised.  Whether it’s in cleaner, degreaser, or powder form, it requires the handler—you—to ensure that all safety precautions are followed. WHERE DO I GET THIS INFORMATION?  The SDS-Safety Data Sheet can be Googled or requested from the vendor or supplier you purchased the product from.

There are several points of interest that should be addressed before the handler starts to use the product:

  • Health effects to protect yourself and any team members working in the immediate area

  • Proper handling: to ensure everything goes well

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required or Recommended

  • First aid: in the event of an accident or exposure
