Celebrating 20 Years
Celebrating 20 years of excellence with a special message from our President and CEO Dell Murphy! Our journey wouldn’t be possible without the dedication, passion, and hard work of our incredible employees at Murphy Family Ventures. Thank you for being the driving force behind our success! Here’s to the next 20 years!
From a small farm in Rose Hill, NC, the Murphy family's entrepreneurial spirit took root and flourished. Wendell and Holmes Murphy's vision not only revolutionized agribusiness but also uplifted local farmers. Today, as Murphy Family Ventures celebrates 20 years, we honor our roots, our hard work, and the community that has grown with us.
Celebrating 20 Years of Growth, Grit, and Generational Legacy
From humble beginnings, a legacy was born in 1962 when Wendell Murphy convinced his father, Holmes Murphy, to step with him into the agribusiness world—anchored by hard work, integrity, and the quiet power of under-promising and over-delivering. What started as a small, family-run venture quickly became something more.
Carrying that vision forward is Dell Murphy. Guided by the values passed down from his father and grandfather—integrity, loyalty, and an unwavering work ethic—Dell continues to lead Murphy Family Ventures with the same steady hand and heartfelt dedication.
As we celebrate 20 years of Murphy Family Ventures, we’re proud to honor the generations of leadership that made it all possible. From a farm in Rose Hill to an ever-growing enterprise, this is a story of grit, gratitude, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way.
Here’s to the past that shaped us, the present that grounds us, and the future we’re building—together.
🌟 Meet Our 2025 Interns! 🌟
This summer, we’re excited to welcome nine bright and talented interns to Murphy Family Ventures! They’re not here for just any summer job—they’re diving into real-world experiences that build skills, spark careers, and make a difference.
From hands-on training to meaningful projects in the field, our interns are already making their mark. We’re proud to support the next generation of leaders! Stay tuned for more updates as the summer continues.
Our summer internship program is in full swing, giving students a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to work in the pork industry!
Recruiter Megan Jensen said, "Our summer internship's goal is to give students hands-on experience in the pork industry. We assign each student to one of our sow farms where they will work alongside other staff to learn how the farm operates. They will have the opportunity to see and perform all the daily tasks that the farm staff must complete and have management spend one-on-one time with them discussing the farm's data, expenses, budgets, supplies, etc. In the last week of the internship, students will tour some of our finishing barns and our biogas projects. Our hope is that each student will leave us with newfound knowledge and appreciation of the pork industry."
We’re proud to invest in the next generation of agriculture leaders—and to share the hard work, passion, and innovation that fuel our farms every day.
Pork, Pride & Pulled BBQ!
A big thank you to the @ncpork for hosting an incredible lunch last Friday! 🐷 BBQ sandwiches, pork burgers, chips, sodas, and cookies—what more could you ask for? The event was open to the entire town of Wallace as a heartfelt “thank you” for supporting the pork industry. Duplin County is one of the top pork-producing counties in North Carolina, and we’re proud to be part of such a strong agricultural community. We’re especially grateful to our amazing Murphy Family Ventures employees who came out and showed their support. It was a fantastic day of food, fun, and community!
We’re excited to share that Worldline, part of Murphy Family Ventures, is now on Facebook & Instagram. Follow them for the latest insights and updates on innovative enterprise technologies designed to support businesses of all sizes.

Safety Topic from Mike Brown
Falling or Moving Objects
BEFORE YOU START ANY TASK----SUIT UP! Think about the task that you are getting ready to start and decide WHAT PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) you will need to complete the task safely and without injury. Please plan ahead and ensure the necessary PPE is serviceable. So what are we talking about? That is the question.
Anytime you are working around objects that can move or fall, ensure you have the right tools and PPE with you. Here are a few good suggestions:
Safety Glasses or Goggles if you are spraying, using power tools, or working above your head
Hard Hats are required if the task involves items that may fall from above or strike you while moving
Safety Shoes/Boots are required when moving animals and working with heavy objects that may fall, creating a crush injury
