Training and Development Update
In the coming weeks, all personnel in leadership roles will receive login credentials for MFV University. While participation has previously been voluntary, evolving needs require us to modernize how training is delivered.
We will continue to offer in-person training sessions; however, several key leadership courses will now be available through MFV University. This blended approach is designed to provide greater flexibility and convenience when scheduling and completing required training.

Each month our sow farms participate in healthy competition in an effort to reward the highest levels of productivity. This is measured in three areas, farrowing rate, pigs weaned, and conception rate/RTU. Each of the winning teams receives a catered meal of their choice.

Congratulations to Dover Finisher Manager Darvin Ford on 10 years with MFV.
Senior Production Manager Doug Tennal said, “Darvin’s dedication and hard work over the past decade have been nothing short of extraordinary, and MFV is fortunate to have him". Prior to his current role, Darvin previously worked for the company hauling wean pigs. When he returned in 2016, he worked in the breeding department at Ozark East Sow Farm, making great strides towards gaining the knowledge necessary to excel in production and lead a successful department. He was then transferred to Dover Finisher in 2022 and promoted to manager. In his current role, Darvin has proven to be an outstanding asset, not only at Dover Finisher but also by spending time mentoring leadership at Turkey Run. Please join us in congratulating Darvin on his 10-year anniversary. Thank you for your outstanding service!

Carbon Monoxide Safety
Carbon Monoxide has been labeled the “silent killer” because it is hard for us to detect. CO is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas. Many times, when you are exposed to an area where carbon monoxide is present, there is no warning until you come down with a headache, become dizzy, or have difficulty breathing. Always, I repeat always, ensure when you are working around gas-producing equipment or appliances, be sure the area is always well ventilated. We will take a couple of examples: using a portable generator if power has gone out. Be sure to always keep the generator outside and not in an enclosed area while it is running. When using a portable kerosene heater, be sure it is authorized for interior use. Always ensure you maintain good ventilation. If you suspect a carbon monoxide leak, please evacuate the area immediately. BE SAFE!
